In some ways, our summer has ended.
However, as Jared reminded me the other day, in truth, the summer hasn't really ended yet. It's just that school has started. Therefore for the next few weeks, we are trying to juggle school + summer. It's harder than it sounds.
But it's good. Because when it's hard, it's good, right? And we get to go through it together as a family, with a great God!
One thing that always makes life more manageable for us is a weekend at home :). This summer has been a lot of on the go which has made it all the more crazier. Yet as we look back on all of the places we've gone and all the new relationships we've established and the old ones we've strengthened, we wouldn't trade it for anything! We'll just enjoy this weekend with just us at home :).
With all that being said, enjoy the following post... a recap of the second half of our summer. We are so blessed!
Our farmers market at Fairview Haven has been a success again this year for which we are very thankful! If you haven't yet made it this year, you've got one more chance - this coming Wednesday from 8-12 is our last one for the year!!

we stopped at a cute little Mexican restaurant for supper on our way home from LV!

We enjoyed collaborating with Fairview Haven and setting up a booth at the Taste of Fairbury event earlier this month! It was fun to be a part of!
| Fairview Haven sold kettle corn at the booth... let's just say there was plenty to go around for that day and several after it :). |
a summer favorite! We've been getting quite a few! Some yummy winter smoothies comin' right up...
enjoying fresh flowers!
an early morning farmers market picking!
This is an old picture, but still worth sharing. Jared enjoyed being part of this bean walking crew for several weeks earlier in the summer!
(grr... blurry picture!)
We so enjoyed attending the extended Leman Reunion this past weekend in Indiana! We got to reconnect with relatives and meet ones we had never met before. It was hard to say goodbye!
Five year old friends are the best :).
tomato pickings like this...
mean lots of tomato processing time,
and lots of BLT's :)
We enjoyed watching the solar eclipse on Monday! Jared and Marcus actually got to go to Southern Illinois with a family friend to watch the total eclipse. From what I heard, it was a great experience. The rest of us enjoyed watching it here, even though it wasn't the full thing. And in seven years when it happens again, maybe we will all go to the path of totality :).
There you have it... a glimpse of what we've been up to. There are lots of things that we didn't get pictures of and thus didn't get documented, but I think this will do for now :). We'll keep plugging away through our 'busy season'...
