What's Ten Years?

Well.. when you think that we moved here almost ten years ago, ten years doesn't seem like that much.

But when you think of Lily as a newborn and now ten, it seems like quite a lot!

So precious! (about a year here)  We love you, Lily!

So, we've concluded that even if you end up having a life of ten "ten years," ten years is still a significant part of your life, more so the younger you are, of course!

(And we all know that every day matters to God, no matter how many we get.  So, teach us to number them well, Lord.)

Well, anyway, to avoid being too philosophical, let's move on to the more interesting details:

Lily's Little Women Birthday Party!

She's waited a long time for her turn to be ten, which is when we try to really celebrate. ;)

(Remember thisthis, and this?)

Well, it was worth the wait, wasn't it, Lily?

Here is her story:

First, Mom took us girls ice skating all afternoon. We thought that was so fun!!
But when we came home around supper time, we found a great surprise!

Our house was all decorated and there were four "little women" bustling around, putting on the finishing touches when we walked in.

Us girls were ushered downstairs to get all dressed up and have our hair done, while Mom was whisked off to be transformed into Marme (what they call their mother in Little Women).

The big girls did a little scene from Little Woman. It was really funny.

In one part of the story the Marches take food to a poor widow so we took food to Jeannette. She was good at acting, too!

Then we came back and had our supper.

The table was filled with such finery.

The cake was beautiful (thanks to Meg :) )

Breakfast was really good and the birthday party very fun!

Us girls had so much fun. We danced and did skits from the story, played games, and lastly, giggled of course.  I got many gifts like a Bible cover, scrapbook paper, gel pens, and a pillow from Mom and Dad, and other gifts from the girls. Special thanks to my parents for buying my party (at the FVH benefit), to the boys who stayed out of the house during my party, and lastly Faith, Elsa, Reena, and Damaris, who donated the party! I can't believe I'm ten! -Lily
