Its been said that the days of our lives are a little like stringing a chain of beads- one day after another and in the end a thing of beauty. Summer adds bright, splashy variety to our family's "chain" and this summer is no different- indeed, year after year, a lot is the same. We may not have figured out the lazy part of summer, but we do enjoy the exciting part of "busy!"
Summer is now half over, but we decided to show a glimpse of the second half of June all in one post. Not every day is as glorious as it looks, and some here firmly believe they are slaves, but hopefully when the string is complete, we can look back and be filled with peace and gratefulness and in some way have touched others in the name of Jesus.
Here are a few pictures from our gardens. God hasn't grown us a jungle like He did last year, but some things have done really well. Our "cabbage patch" (cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower) is doing great!

| We got a seven pound cabbage one day :) |
 |
| I love God's summer colors |
 |
| a snapshot of one of our weekly farmer's market (it's not just our farm anymore though. We enjoy doing it with three other families - makes it a little easier :)) |
 |
| looking like a bike rental- wanna come over and join us? This summer has been great for bike rides but we have yet to bike into town or even go around the section. Hopefully in July.. |
Lily enjoyed performing a few songs with her good friends and their instruments!
For Father's day we had a dual celebration. We celebrated our awesome father of course, and then my family celebrated my birthday with me as well! It was a great evening!

It was great to spend a few of our summer days with the Knapps when they were back in the area!
Marcus and Seth spontaneously decided to reshingle the shed roof (it really did need it), and spent most of their time together on top :).
 |
| Joe came the next day to help finish.... It's done now - they all did a great job! |
These three decided to camp out on their night together!
 |
it took awhile to get that tent set up, but they developed a plan and it worked!

 |
| marshmallows at ten am on a cold, drizzly friday morning :) |
I was excited to be able to spend a few days with the girls as well! We recalled lots of memories of the last birthday party we celebrated together five years ago, and tried to recreate some of the pictures:).

| 2015 - if we haven't changed much, the kitchen certainly has :) |
We had tons of fun together as always ;). After a night at my house, we spent the next day swimming, singing, out for lunch and ice cream, and more memories!

June is over, and July has begun. And July means I will be spending more time in the car than ever before. This string could get interesting.... :) faith and kara
