Twenty Years Later

Its a rare thing in life that doesn't change.

That's why Hebrews 13:8 is so comforting: Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

About a month ago, we had the privilege of experiencing our annual get-together (finally) with three good ole' friends of mine and dear sisters in the Lord. Its obvious, in twenty years, things have changed (although big glasses are coming back in...ha ha!). But oh, the memories we made! And I was honored to have them each in our wedding (those 16 years ago). Our lives took different turns as the years have passed, each of us experiencing God's will and love in unique ways, and being shaped and molded in response.

It didn't happen overnight :), but between us, we now have a tableful of giggly, adorable girls, and a precious four-some of boys. I wish the pictures had turned out better- Kenan, at nearly twice the size of the others, shouldn't have been in the foreground!- but you get the idea. I loved just looking at those four boys and thinking of us four girls so many years ago.

But, even more than that, was the realization of where we could all be - geographically, relationally, spiritually, especially in the unpredictable day and age in which we now find ourselves- and yet, in spite of our individual callings and pasts, we still have so much in common! It almost felt like not much had changed at all.

Thanks, dear girls, for bringing me so much joy, from then til now!  -Kara

PS- and we get to spend this weekend with Luann and her precious family - looking forward to it!!

PSS- we had a great weekend together and here are some pictures to show for it!
