A *Taste* of Catering

We like to cook. We like to host. We like to cater.

We really don't cater that often, but this Wednesday we had the opportunity to cater a luncheon at the Hampsher Hotel! It was just for Grandma and Grandpa, her siblings, and nieces (a special surprise birthday luncheon) but it was still fun to pretend for a day :). And the Hampsher hotel is a lovely place to host!

Our menu consisted of: fresh garden Italian salad in a cucumber, garden chive roll, southwestern melt, asparagus bacon soup, and rhubarb cherry crunch with ice cream to top it off.

a 'peep behind the scenes' :)

the salad in the cucumber turned out really well - perfect for a gourmet salad! Thanks Zims for the idea!

serving the soup and sandwich - Joanna got to come help!

and then they disappeared to the sitting room to escape the dishes...

I don't blame them though... I avoided the dishes at all cost as well - just ask dad :)

It was enjoyable to prepare and serve them...thanks Grandma for the opportunity! And who knows... maybe more catering sometime in the future?! :) -faith
