In the past weeks, our family has started a new project. We've begun the process of making another CD! It's a big project - tiring, overwhelming, fun, crazy, and enjoyable all mixed up together. All in all though, I think it's been exciting for all of us. The last CD we did, we recorded in Virkler's basement, which was a little crowded. But this time, we get to record in their new, grand studio - it's awesome!!
We're about halfway through our vocals by now, and the instrumentation is done. However, we've been kinda stuck as Marcus had pneumonia for a long time - today his fever finally broke though (after nine days ...) so that's a good sign! I've also been struggling with a bad cough, which makes recording a little tough. But if everything goes as planned, we hope to get lots done next week.

| I wonder if Dad's arms ever get tired from leading so much? :) |
 |
| Big thanks to Corey for helping Marcus with guitar a couple of times! |
 |
| another highlight of the studio is the grand piano!! |
After the instruments were done, it was time for the vocals! It's so neat to sing as a family with all of our microphones, and headphones, etc. But it isn't always perfect ;). There are times when Kenan won't cooperate. There are times when Dad gets the giggles (yes, in the middle of a song, too). Or when Ben needs yet
another take of the same song. There are times when Jared coughs, right at the very last note of the song. Or Mom and I can't hold our breath as long as we need to. You get the point :). But, we're thankful for Ben, who's really good at his job. And it's fun to have bloopers!! :)
 |
| Kenan sings on about half of the songs. So when he doesn't sing, he gets to sit up behind the glass with Ben, which makes him really happy :). Sometimes Ben even lets him push buttons for him! |
 |
on account of Dad's face, this may have been
one of those times that Kenan wasn't cooperating... |
 |
this is the control room - and that's Ben :).
If everything goes as planned, the CD will be released in the spring of 2015. It's actually an Easter CD - It doesn't really seem right to start listening to Christmas music as our whole family is all geared up for Easter songs :).
And so, in closing, we'd ask for your prayers as we tackle this project. Prayers that we can regain our health and everything can go smoothly as we planned, prayers that we wouldn't kill ourselves and each other during the whole overwhelming process, and most importantly (although the previous reason is pretty important...:)) that the finished product will be all and totally for the glory of God. That's the sole purpose of this second CD (and our first one). May He use us for His purpose, that others might feel His love and glorify His name!! -Faith
