Congratulate. Celebrate. Future Awaits.

Recently, we had the privilege of celebrating a special occasion: Faith's graduation from eighth grade! Now, to those older than us, you're thinking, yah been there done that. And to those younger than us, you're thinking, well, yah, that's what parents your age are doing. But to those our age, you're thinking along with us, yah! this is a big deal! We felt like it was anyway! Afterall, we can still remember that wonderful day she entered our lives and turned us into parents. And then became school age and we prayerfully began schooling her at home. And blink! Here we are.

Congratulations, sweet firstborn! You've been such a joy to teach! :) Always trying your absolute best, diligent in all we ask, a wonderful example to the rest of us of a true peacemaker, willing to work crazy-hard for our family, and a beautiful picture of a child of God.

We decided to celebrate by going to a nice restaurant as a family, then watching our great friends star in a music concert. It was a very nice evening.

And since she's such a great student, we gave her a laptop to encourage more of her diligent school spirit. :)

Then, a few weeks later, she turned 14! (She can finally start getting paid for her hours at Fairview Haven now. :)  )

Most of us got up real early and prepared a special breakfast for our special birthday girl. Then she got to spend the day with people she loves, so we hope she felt celebrated.

Well, dear daughter, the future awaits. We look forward to watching God's plan and purpose for your life unfold. We feel so blessed to be your parents!

The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
(a blessing found in Numbers 6:24-26)
