Scales, Spots, Stripes, and Sun!

(In case you are wondering about the delay in posting, we have had terrific internet problems. We think they are fixed, so we will try to get caught up now!)

Last Monday was an absolutely beautiful day and a perfect day for a trip to Brookfield zoo (especially since we got in free :))! We haven't been to a big zoo for ages, so we were really excited! We carpooled with the Moser's, and met up with some other homeschoolers when we got there. This was actually the our first field trip with CHEER24 - our new homeschool group.

The giraffes were gorgeous with the sun beating down on them!

We enjoyed watching the dolphin show before settling down for a picnic under the warm rays of sunshine.

Lils and her friends

The brown bear quietly sat on his rock as if posing for a picture!

Does anyone know how a polar bear can live in our climate? His living area was just like the weather outside - which was beautiful for us, but it seems like it would get a bit hot for him!

Kenan and Paige :)

Peter and Kenan were best buds together

It was a great day filled with fun in the sun! We arrived home to find several bushels of apples waiting to be made into sauce and two trees loaded with apples for cider which is what we did the next Monday.....
