When a Blessing Blesses

If you're starting to think that the title doesn't make sense, let me explain. A few months ago, I got together with some of my best friends and we spent a day and a half sewing little dresses for girls in Haiti (you may remember reading about it here). We had a fabulous time together while imagining sweet, little girls wearing these dresses!

Soon after our wonderful sewing day, we sent the dresses to Loving Shepherd Ministries. Just yesterday we received an email from them with pictures that made our day! There was a group that went to Haiti and gave the dresses to a Home of Hope filled with girls. They said that the girls loved them and wore them to VBS! It was sooooo exciting to see these pictures - I can't wait to make more!!

Isn't she adorable?
Sorry, the computer insist that the picture is supposed to go this way...
LSM also said that the girls really like the dresses with flowers on them. And guess what? Today, Mom and I went to an open house for Haitian Linens, and found adorable little flowers and butterflies (and a lot of other things too) for 20 cents a piece!! They're perfect! So, I really stocked up (I got 90 flowers to be exact:))- can't wait to use them!

I am going to try to make a bunch before January so that I can send them to Haiti with a group that is going then - and there is a way you can help! A couple years back I received LOTS of material from Grandma K (and other people too - thanks!) and now my stock of fabric is slowly running out. If you have any old scraps of fabric that aren't being used, we would be glad to use them to make a little girl smile! It doesn't have to be a big piece of material because a dress doesn't take much. And it doesn't even have to be cute - when you pair it up with a bright color, and add some flowers, it will be adorable! Also, if you would have an interest in making them, let me know - they are easy, and a lot of fun.

So anyway, when we got together to sew, we were all blessed - blessed by being together, and blessed by a chance to serve by sewing. It was a blessing! And when a blessing blesses, it only creates more! -Faith
