To commemorate Labor day this year, we met some old friends of ours, Troy and June and their family, in Springfield for about 24 fun-filled hours! We spent the time swimming, swimming, and more swimming, and between swimming, we swam some more :)
When the pool closed on Sunday evening, we went up to our rooms and enjoyed a variety of snacks. Before Troy and June arrived, the person at the front desk called us and informed us that the people beneath us were complaining of relay races going on above them. Hopefully they are tight sleepers, because at 11:00 pm I don't think we were exactly what you would call quiet.
On Monday, we spent the morning swimming and then we drove to a nearby park. After about 30 minutes of trying to figure out where the playground and tables were, we settled down for a picnic. After we had finished eating, we went and had some fun on the playground a bit. While we were playing, Bryson jumped off and landed on his foot wrong. It started swelling up immediately and it hurt him really bad. So, unfortunately he had to stay in the car while we went on a little nature hike, and fed bread to the ducks.
We left the park mid-afternoon, and ate supper together halfway home. Then it was time to say good-bye and head home to a day full of real labor on Tuesday. We had a great time, although we were recalling on the way home, it seems like every time we are together, something bad happens. We found out Tuesday that Bryson broke his foot- Hopefully he gets well soon.
What did you do over Labor Day? -Faith
