On Sunday, we made rootbeer. We got it from Dustin and Julie for a Christmas gift. It was really fun, and a new experience for me. It is a very long process. We had to clean everything really good!!! Once all the bottles and other equipment were disinfected, we took water and poured it into a big bowl. We added yeast and 3 cups of sugar (I didn't tell Mom how much- she didn't want to know just how much!) and then this brown liquid rootbeer mix. After it was stirred well, we took turns pouring the rootbeer into bottles that came with it. It has to ferment in a warm dark place so we put in the storage room and covered them with a blanket. Then we forgot about them. They are supposed to be fermented when the bottles feel firm. Mom decided to check them yesterday and the bottles are very firm! We put it in the fridge, hoping we didn't ferment it TOO much. We are going to have rootbeer floats tonight (hopefully). We haven't drank it yet but am sure it will be good and I can't wait to drink it. I will let you know how it tastes! - Jared
