When I asked one of my coworkers how her weekend was, she replied "when it rains it pours". I informed her that it is always pouring at our house! Well this week has been no exception. Take today for example. I picked up two gallons of honey on my way home from work. About 4 miles from home, I rounded a corner and over went the two gallons of honey. Well, one of the lids stayed on thankfully but the other didn't. I only lost about 2/3 of that gallon ($20 worth) onto the floor of my truck!!!!!! I quickly slammed on my brakes and stood the two gallon up. Now, my hand was covered in honey. I made it home and cleaned it up - have you ever cleaned up 2/3 gallon of honey out of carpet? As I was washing things up, I have to tell you that I started to count my blessings. 1) I was thankful that we have a kitchen sink in our garage now. One that we received a bill for double what was quoted us to put in. 2) I was thankful that we had running water, as yesterday at the same time we didn't! A wire (no, two wires) on our well were severed. Thankfully that didn't require a huge mess in the front yard, because just last week we had a backhoe out to dig down to our water line going into the house where a leak had sprung. 3) I'm thankful Kenan didn't develop a brain injury when Lily decided to pick him up and carry him across the living room. As they reached the kitchen she tripped and they both went flying across the hardwood. This happened while I was knee deep in honey! and finally I am thankful that we didn't have to purchase a new recliner. Lily peed in it about a week ago and Kara has been feverishly trying to get the smell out. Finally with some animal spray of some kind she accomplished the task!
SOOOO, if you are ever tempted to think that the sun always shines at the Blunier House, please reread this post!!! I told Kara tonight I know it is the Lord's money. I just wish he would tell me to throw it in the trash or burn it, that way at least I wouldn't have to stress about fixing things and cleaning things! Hope your week is going better than mine... - Dave
We're so thankful to find out that things at the Dave Blunier house are about as crazy as things at the Doug Blunier house, where in the last couple of weeks, Kaden alone has created massive carnage by dumping a nearly full gallon of milk on the floor, painting the computer keys with white out, and squirting a new tube of toothpaste out until Mommy stopped him, among other destruction. And that's just Kaden! Doug says that instead of starting a blog to chat about our kids' cute ways, we should just post a list of destroyed items!
