The First Thanksgiving

Last Friday we had a Pilgrim presentation night. With Thanksgiving coming up we decided to do a little presentation night with one of our home school groups. Each family had a topic that told the story of the original harvest feast. Our topic was about the Pilgrims on the Mayflower and why the Pilgrims came to America- that is an amazing story alone. It was fun what everybody else came up with including costumes. Including Grandparents and other family and friends we performed in front of about sixty people. After the presentations were over (I can tell you we all felt a little bit better!) we enjoyed a Harvest feast. The Menu was: Boiled Onions, Sourdough Bread, Stewed Pumpkin, Popcorn, Salmon (including the bones and scales), Venison and Cheese, Dried Berries, All Kinds of Nuts, Indian Corn Nuts, Pumpkin Seeds, Cider, and Water. It was fun to pretend to be pilgrims for one night, but after a couple hours in a small area with sixty people and a lot of clothes, it got really hot!-Faith

PS sorry no pictures, they got deleted from the camera unfortunately
