The Great Depression Hits Home in 2019

In June we put on a dinner theater. It was very stressful for some of us, but in the end it turned out a great success and worth the effort! Since the past traveling supper groups were ready to be done with the suppers, we came up with another group. Matthew and Jodi Kaisner, Kevin and Kara Moser and us! The play was about two different families during the Great Depression; the Henry Yergler and Jacob Yergler families (two brothers with very different lives). The Jacob Yergler family was a farm family in Kansas living off of what they grew. The Henry Yergler family were city slickers living off what they were given from the Ford Motor Company (which was much more than the farmers). When the stock market crashed and Henry and Elizabeth lost all they had, their only option left was to move to the farm. Jacob and Rose Yergler welcomed them warmly and kindly ignored rude and ungrateful comments of their humble farm life. In the end of the three years the families were together, they all grew and learned how to be thankful for what they had. Even if it was very meager, they had Jesus and that is all you need.
The decorations were so cute!...

...The music sounded great!...

behind the scenes

It all turned out to be one (three actually) very nice evenings. Lots of hard work was put into it put the memories made were worth it! Although there were many sighs of relief when we were done, it was a lot if fun!

Thanks for all those that pulled it together!-Lily
