It appears that summer has made its full appearance as we begin to settle into the rhythm of summer and fill our days with all of our summer favorites! The past few weeks have found us fully taking advantage of the beautiful weather and soaking it in as much as possible. Enjoy a snapshot (or should I say several snapshots) of what summer has been for us here the past few days.
kittens! This year we actually had two batches bringing our total to 11 little bunches of fluff. Unfortunately, we have lost a few along the way, but I think we will still have plenty to go around :).
We loved getting to keep these guys over Memorial Day weekend while their family made the big move. They followed us around through all our weekend festivities! It was so hard to say goodbye come Monday, and we will miss them all so much! Hoping we can visit though, sometime in the near future :).
It's farmer's market season once again! We're thankful that we have a group of families committed to helping us with it, and hoping for another rewarding year!
With Marcus working this summer, and my days filling up with a summer class and work, the majority of garden responsibilities have fallen to Mom and the younger kids. Together the four of them make a great crew!
That's a lot of radishes! We're thankful to have a customer who took a whole gallon sized bag full of them, because, well... we don't go through them that fast :).
Lily and Mom enjoyed running the market together one morning!
We enjoyed attended Brandon's graduation ceremony last Friday!
It was great to reconnect with friends and make new ones over Memorial Day Weekend!
Oh yes, the finished deck that I never did get around to posting! It's been finished for a month or so, and we have put it to good use. It's nice to have the project complete (or almost anyway... I believe it's still missing one board, but that will come eventually :)). Kudos to Dad and the boys for making this one happen and doing a great job with it, too!
Here is an old before picture of the deck that I found for those who can't remember what it looked like before :). Basically it went from wood that was rotting and falling apart, to gray/white vinyl and also they restructured the steps.
We got Mom a new patio table for her birthday! We surprised her witj breakfast on the deck on Monday and since have nearly eaten every meal outside on the patio. It feels like vacation or something!
We enjoyed a cookout on Monday evening with our travel supper crew and also celebrated Mom's birthday then, too!
We took sack lunches to the creek one day this week :).
And oh yes, the fresh strawberries! One of our favorite tastes of summer. We've been enjoying strawberries for breakfast, lunch and supper around here, but we aren't sick of them yet :).
This is compliments of Jared through and through. He made strawberry milkshakes for him and Kenan when they were home alone one day! Doesn't it look heavenly?!
The pool turned to a dome this past week :). Jared helped Dad by getting the first layer of the tarp off leaving the bottom layer free to blow in the wind. Thankfully, the tarp is all the way off now and the pool is full and running! What could possibly go wrong from here?! (Let's just hope for a clear blue pool all summer...)
The latest addition to the property as far as vehicles go... Marcus' fourwheeler that he purchased from a buddy of his from work. So far it has served it's purpose well as he can now transport himself to and from work. Hopefully, he and the fourwheeler stay in one piece :).
And there you have it... our summer in pictures so far! We're looking forward to the summer months ahead, and filling them with hard work and hard play alike. Stay tuned for a post about an exciting event we helped pull off in May, as well as the latest farm addition when it comes to animals. :)
