what a prized discovery :)
Mom and the kiddos tried a little something new this year to add to the traditional method of dying Easter eggs. A while back Mom picked up some old silk ties from a thrift store, and they first ripped them apart. Them they took the patterned silk part and wrapped it around a raw egg. Next they took the wool insert from the tie and wrapped that around the egg as well, securing it with a rubber band. The next step was to boil the eggs and let them cool for awhile.
Not all of these are from silk ties, but can you tell which ones are?!
what's an Easter without dying Easter eggs, anyway? :)
And last but not least, here's an introduction to our latest project... because what's a busy gardening season without a big project to go with it? So, this time it's the deck. The wooden one has long served it's purpose and it's time for a remodel. It's still in progress, but here are a few pictures...
It was a windy day!
We'll be sure to post the finished product... when it's finished that is,
and if it looks like we want it to :)
We're looking forward to more spring days ahead!
