Our Christmas Festivities

Our Christmas weekend here was almost perfect. We filled the weekend with serving others, quality family time, continuing old traditions and beginning new, cousin time, and soaking up the meaning of Christmas!

Since we have so much to celebrate this time of year in our family (and this generally includes quite a lot of receiving),  we enjoy including some sort of service project in with our family Christmas, just to help us all better understand the idea that is it better to give than receive!
This year we decided to have some older people out to our house for a Christmas dinner of sorts on Thursday evening. It's always nice to have an excuse to use the Christmas china more than once a
year anyway plus decorate things around here a little!☺

And oh yes, Thursday also began our annual birthday celebrating roller coaster - almost every other day for a week! Anyway, Kenan's birthday was Thursday so after the guests left, we celebrated him.

Friday was the much anticipated Family Christmas Day. We got to spend the whole day together at home and it definitely wasn't too much time :). It was just perfect.

We began the day with our tradition of the spider web string game which always leads to a new book from Mom.

never know where the string will take you!

Then breakfast and stockings...

and gifts! This year we did a draw name for the first year between us siblings which was a fun addition!

We gave Dad some wall decor for the wall above his desk in his new office!

we enjoyed going and hanging it up with him on Saturday :). Doesn't it look sharp?! (of course you can't really see it here - you will have to pay him a quick visit!)

Mom's annual picture with our gifts... complete with Jared's new laser pointer...

Friday afternoon we enjoyed just some relaxing time playing games and ping pong and the like :)

Christmas dinner is always Dad's forte! This year Kenan was the lucky one who got to pick the menu...which was... tator tot casserole! ;)

Saturday early afternoon we headed out to Princeville to spend the Christmas weekend out there! We spent Saturday evening with the Bluniers... we were thankful there were no ambulances involved this year :).

he was as pleased as punch!

On Sunday we enjoyed church in Princeville and helping serve lunch! We were able to just spend the evening celebrating Christmas with just Grandpa and Grandma since we had the Leman Christmas at Thanksgiving...

Grandma had us playing this game after supper that her and Grandpa had played somewhere else... she gave us instructions of what to draw on the paper plate on top of our heads. The funniest part was when Grandpa questioned the instructions she was giving us and she said, "Well I don't know, I was just giving them instructions off the top of my head!" We laughed hysterically.

In closing, we hope your Christmas was a merry as ours :). Christmas is a favorite of ours and we always look forward to it! Till next year!! Faith
