A couple of weeks ago when the world was covered in white and school students enjoyed their snow day...
...we spent our day doing school just like any other day. That's one downside of homeschooling - never a morning where we get to hear "no school today, you may go back to bed!" (hmmm, mom, how could you fix that?! :)).
But, let's look more on the positive side of things. This past Friday, while all school students were in school just like like any other day...
| someone called them the carhart crew by the way :) |
...we spent our day in Chicago :). It was time for some much needed family time and so as a way to celebrate our Christmas birthdays we enjoyed a little getaway! We also like to celebrate our 100th day of school somehow and so we made it a joint celebration :). We started out our day at the Willis Tower...
| Thursday was our 103rd day of school, and Friday we walked the 103rd story of the Willis Tower :) |
| we could see for miles! |
After exploring the sky deck and figuring out all of the sights in Chicago from up in the sky, we decided to take the dare and step out onto the glass ledge :)
| Kenan was just a little bit frightened... :) |
| It's pretty neat... we all enjoyed it which is a plus ;) |
After we got back onto solid ground, we walked to Maggie Dailey park and spent the afternoon ice skating! It was great as well, and not even too cold. In fact, I think I got a slight sunburn... naturally.;)
| Kenan and Dad actually walked around a little and spent some time at a park while we were ice skating. |
Then we visited the Bean...
And enjoyed going in and out of a few shops :)
| we discovered the cutest little candy shop! |
| Willis Tower out of Legos |
| if she would be really honest... this would probably be the best part of her trip - extra long twizzlers. |
we ate supper at cheesecake factory!
We had started our day pretty early, so when we got back to our hotel, we still had a lovely evening to spend swimming a little bit and playing Quirkle :). |
| Jared spent most of his time on the windowsill checking out what all he could see on the street below :) |
we loved Embassy Suite's breakfast!
Saturday morning the younger kids did some swimming and Dad and the rest of us got our exercise for the day by walking the streets :). |
| oh and we walked around every floor too, starting at 6 and up to 17 - in honor of you, Grandma! :) |
| thanks to Mom and Dad for a great little getaway! |
And now we are back to school... just like any other day. But only two more weeks till we are off again! ;) -faith
I'm with Kenan about that glass ledge--NO WAY.
