Broke.

There have been many times when we feel like something's wrong with us. Things don't work when they are absolutely supposed to, and there is always, always, always, something broken. That's how we've felt this week. So, just in case there is someone else out there that feels the same way, we've decided to document it.

It started with the oven. We had been having some issues with how things were getting baked, but Dad always blamed it on the cook. *insert eye roll* However, when the peanut butter cookies were broiled one evening, we decided it was time to do something about it. We made it about four days without an oven, but we are back up and running now, thankfully!

That happened last week, before Saturday happened. There are many reasons why it should have been a good day - and if you look on the positive side of things, it was :). I started off the day hosting a little girls birthday party with some friends - it went really well, more on that later! Noah and Elise were here so the younger kids were in their glory all day. (come back soon!) We even spent some time in the evening making Resurrection cookies!

Ready for the rest of the story? 1) The computer responded to a serious virus. Again. Dad took it in to be fixed yesterday and mom brought it home today after hearing that it was done (and paying the bill, of course!) As soon as it was in the door, dad tried in vain to get it up and running. So... it's back at radio shack. 2) My phone also decided to be done for - in the middle of a phone call no less! It maybe wasn't all bad though... cause I got a new one!:) 3) Our new equipment for the guys' haircuts also decided to stop working. That was bad enough but what was worse, is that Dad was in the middle of his haircut! That's the reason why his hair looked slightly uneven in church on Sunday - in case you noticed :).

Then, get this - we went over to meet our new neighbors that moved in down the road. We took them supper, met their dog and chatted for a while :). And during the few minutes that we were there, their coat rack/shelf completely fell off the wall with all the coats on it! I don't think any of us did it - it must have been the wind when the door slammed, but talk about making an impression! :)

The last thing worth documenting from the ongoing list, is actually quite humorous. Or maybe it's just that by this time, the only thing to do is laugh:). Jared had an interesting story to share with us at breakfast yesterday: He sleeps in the top bunk in the boys room which happens to be within reach of the ceiling tiles. He told us that while sleeping, he remembers feeling like he wanted to get his head in the ceiling, so he worked hard but just could not get it until he eventually broke off half of the ceiling tile.... then he could stick his head in the ceiling! This resulted in a messy bed and a broken ceiling tile, which he slept comfortably with until morning, when he discovered that his dream had come true! He even breaks things in his sleep!! (sorry Jared... couldn't help adding that on :)) .

Well.... that's been life lately. If you're ever feeling discouraged with broken items, or technology that doesn't work, just remember the Bluniers. :)

  1. Let me add to the list. In the last week or so, my rice cooker died (sad, sad day. I loved my rice cooker) and my salad spinner also bit the dust. Then, Monday I was trying to grill pork/apple/pineapple skewers and the grill ran out of gas about 3 minutes in. Thankfully, Doug drove in shortly afterwards and attached a full tank so we were able to eat our meal.

  2. This sounds like the week that 4 of our vehicles were out of commission for some reason or another!!!
