Florida 2015: A Taste of Heaven

Wouldn't life be grand if it was just one loooong vacation that never ended? Oh... it would be lovely. But, guess what - that's what heaven will be like! That's what we have to look forward to!!

This week we are getting a taste of heaven. Nothing beats Florida in January... it's so easy to completely forget about everything back home - the cold, the snow, school, work, etc. We are thoroughly looking forward to the week ahead of us! But for now, a little snapshot of the past few days.

We pulled out of our drive at 3:00 am Friday morning - texted the neighbors, laid on the horn and we were off! We were thrilled to realize that when we stopped for breakfast at eight, we already had five hours done!

We made it to our first destination mid afternoon. We were hoping it would be a little earlier, but traffic delayed our plans. We loved our short, yet oh, so sweet stay with the Knapps :).

our hosts :)

Lexi, you missed the smiling memo...:)

We stayed up late into the morning and had to be on the road early, so breakfast was a little drippy :).

thanks for hosting, Knapps. We Love you!

on the road our second day!

It worked out perfectly to meet the Herrmann's for lunch as they were traveling home from Florida!!

We arrived at Grandpa and Grandma's condo just about supper time. But actually, we decided to wait for supper, and race down to the beach (which is within walking distance) to enjoy the sunset :). Oh, Florida is heavenly! Our condo is really nice too... it reminds us of Mexico! The only bad part is the hard tile stairs which have caused some injuries :).

While we are enjoying this taste of heaven, it isn't heaven yet, however. In fact, we had a scary episode during the night. Kenan woke up with terrible croup at about 5:00 this morning, just like he had October 2013. We were really close to having to call 911 again, but thankfully Mom was able to break it up just in time. And amazingly, he was just fine today, and we went to church as planned! It's sure a good thing we have mom as a nurse cause Dad wasn't much help! (he was about passing out, but made the excuse he was praying :))

a big thanks to Grandpa and Grandma for enduring us for a week!

florida smiles!

lovin' the sunshine!
We tried to get some nice family photos this afternoon, but I think we will have to try again sometime this week (we need you, haylie!) Here's sneak peak...

We spent more time walking and chillin' on the beach this afternoon. The weather was perfect for wading in the water... so wonderfully exquisite :). It might take a little bit to get Dad to come back home! :)

this week we plan to celebrate the winter birthdays - tonight was Lily's night.

I'll leave off here for now, as I'm sure it's enough to make you jealous! We are loving our week here, but it's only a taste of heaven and pretty soon we'll be back to reality. But that's okay, because heaven is unimaginably better than this week could ever be. -Faith
