Some people are surrounded by extended family: cousins, aunt, uncles, and grandparents. Others aren't, or maybe don't have very much family at all. Both of our families are settled in Princeville and other places, which means we don't get to see them as much as we'd like. But it also means that when we do get together, it's oh, so special. :)
Last Thursday - Thanksgiving Day - we headed to Eureka after church services. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon with the Bluniers (notice no apostrophe, Carol :)). We haven't been together for a while so it was really nice, but crazy too as any Blunier get together would be :).
We spent the night at Grandma B's and then headed over to the Villa for a full day laughing and laying around with the Lemans. And I mean it about the laying around part - half of us were sick. Most of our family was coughing, the Lemans from Chicago were pretty much all sick (or at least went home sick), and a couple others here and there. But we still had fun (at least I did - I was healthy and still am:)) and miss everyone already!!
We started off the day with a photo shoot of Grandpa and Grandma and their kids. They did end up with a nice finished product although the one I picked for the blog isn't the best - sorry, U. Mitch!
Also, later in the day, we lined up in height order for pictures - boys and girls. (Mom's always been the tallest in her class :) )
Next thing we did was a recital, devotions, and singing. Leman Christmas traditions! :).
We sang a Christmas medley where the guys sang 'Jingle Bells' and the girls sang "Have a Very Happy Holiday." It was fun - so fun that we sang it three times :).
Some of us older girls did a play with the younger girls - scenes from Little Women this year. We had so much fun doing it, and I think the adults had fun watching it!

After supper we spent some time reminiscing with some old slides. It's hilarious seeing how styles have changed :). Saturday morning, Grandma prepared all the moms and girls a lovely luncheon!! Then we met all the boys at a community center close by and spent the afternoon swimming, playing basketball, walking, and pizza :).

I noticed the lack of apostrophe right away. :-)
ReplyDelete:) I'll try my best to keep working on that! thanks for setting me straight! :)
