Blog-Worthy Adventures

Our life has been so full of blog-worthy adventures, that we've been having a hard time getting things posted! :) Every day's a big day, there's always something going on, and through it all we try to find time for school :).

A couple weeks ago, Haylie caught a ride out and was able to spend a long weekend with us. It was great! We didn't get to all the things we wanted to do, but made lots of memories anyway :). When she arrived Thursday morning, we tried to accomplish a little school. I didn't have too much to do, so it seemed pretty feasible. However, we got hardly anything done in the two hours that we sat there, except for catching up on each other's lives :).

friends for life! :)
Thursday afternoon we decided to make homemade Oreo cookies (which Haylie had just made at Herrmann's the day before :)). They ended up being basically just a chocolate cookie with frosting in the middle, which was good!

Thursday evening we accomplished our goal for the summer: biking 8 miles from our house into Fairbury! It was the perfect night - no wind, and barely sweatshirt weather. It was an easy ride (thanks to the IL roads, Haylie :)) and we made it to DQ in a little less than an hour. We would have been up for riding home, except for that it was dark ... so Dad brought the big van in and met us at DQ for blizzards!

the biking team :)

Friday we got up early and spent a lovely day at Cantigny War Museum. After getting home, and chugging a bowl of potato soup, we were back in town again for evening plans. Then Haylie and I went home with Stollers and spent a fun night with Kate. Thanks, Kate!

yeah, you saw this picture already, but I like it so I posted it again :)

Saturday we spent the day shopping in town and then just messing around at home in the afternoon. Sunday was baptisms and then we had to say goodbye. Thanks for coming Haylie! Till thanksgiving!:)

Alright, onto the next adventure: the boys were given a job opportunity at a farm nearby us. After the field had been harvested for silage, they went around and picked up the ears that were left behind. They've gone two afternoons now, and hope to go more soon!

lily went along to help to

Marcus was in heaven driving that thing...

Last Thursday our homeschool group had a cake decorating class! Lily participated in the younger class and made a super cute barn with animals- She did a really good job!

Then the older girls did a class - we didn't get to do too much real decorating, but learned a lot of tips and got to try some of them out on our cakes!
Just a few of us

And there you have it- the adventures we've had over the past couple weeks. And now I think we are really close to being completely caught up on blog posts, until tonight :). Thanks for reading! Faith
