Double the Reunion = Double the Fun!

Leman Vacation 2014 ... gone with the wind. The years go by so fast, and every year since I arrived on the scene for sure, we've made time for Leman Vacation!  As the years go by and we all get older, more things happen in our lives since we've last seen each other, and it means all the more when we have the chance to spend quality time with cousins! :)  I hope we can all stay close and always enjoy being together... just like mom and her cousins! This year the Marvin Leman family reunion eventually became the Joe D. Leman reunion as Mom's aunts, cousins, 2nd cousins and 2nd cousins once removed joined us half-way through. We only get together with them every three years so it's always neat to re-meet everyone :).

The Marvin Leman Family Reunion started on Thursday with a picnic lunch, and a game of 8-base kickball!

8-base kickball was a fun twist to regular kickball!

After spending time at the park, we checked into our hotel (which welcomed the Marvin Leman Family Reunion on it's sign!! :)) and spent time swimming/getting ready for supper, and so on. As more of the family arrived, we played some group games together. After dark, some of us older ones played ultimate Frisbee and then cleaned up and talked together till we kicked the boys out of our room :).

Friday morning, after breakfast and devotions, we headed to France Park (never been to France, but don't really get the resemblance between France and this park... :)). The moms took the younger girls hiking, and U Mitch took the boys while Dad, U Dean, and U Richard took us older kids to go disc golfing. I'd never done it before - but it ended up being pretty fun! It would probably be easier if I could throw the Frisbee straight, but I haven't noticed any poison ivy, and we got all the burrs picked out of my skirt, so it's all good :). It was a great way to spend the morning!

Little Miss Ivory - such a sweetie!

and Marshall is too, of course :)

After lunch, we spent time at the beach, mini golfing and swimming in the water - which was the perfect temperature!

Jared, Cole, and Noah -- three muskateers :)

Friday afternoon/evening, the extended Leman cousins began to arrive. We spent time on a grassy field outside the hotel making big bubbles, playing yard Dutch blitz and other group games, and talking :). Then we enjoyed supper together, slides and singing, and more talking!

While playing Malarky, we balanced all of the chips on Mary's foot; while we were all extremely tense watching them teeter-totter, she threw her foot in the air, throwing chips every where and surprising us all!! Fun times, fun times :)
