I warned you it would be awhile till I got back to this. It's good to be reminded of all the awesome things we did, all the family fun times, and all the beautiful scenery, because since we've been home it's been a whirlwind of sometimes not-so-beautiful things. However, today the storage room and boys' room got cleaned and put back together, and the office got painted some so that's exciting!
I left off on Wednesday, which was probably hands down, our favorite day. We spent the lovely day at Winter Part resort.
Once you got to the top, you got on your little yellow cart, and when it was your turn to go, down you went - zipping around curves, rolling down dips, and having the time of your life :).
After each time of doing the slide we just kept going again - no one wanted to stop! We took a little break though, towards noon, to do some other things. We all did the bungee jumping - Kenan even did a flip!

a little break for lunch... how's it taste, Dad? :) After lunch we a different lift up to another mountain for a scenic ride and lookout at the top, then a ride back down.
Kenan and Lily enjoyed the zip line, rock climbing wall, and bounce house which were all geared for younger kiddos :). We could see a big rain cloud in the distance and knew that they closed the slide when it rained because of it being slippery. So while the others were occupied, Marcus and I decided to take the opportunity to go down again. However, we were too late. By the time we got to the top of the mountain, we were quite simply... wet. We couldn't take the lift down because of potential lightening. And even if it didn't start raining again, it would still take quite a while for the slide to be back up and running. So, we decided to walk down the mountain side. We followed a little mountain bike trail for part of the way - Marcus got the strenuous trail he'd been waiting for all week :). I only slipped once and we made it back down safely, only to find people zooming down the slide... my luck. :)

Wednesday was the day we ate out, and then headed back to our condo. To sum up the day, we all agree the slide was our favorite part of our trip - it was awesome!!! So worth the gardening!! :)
Thursday morning, we woke up early to go horseback riding! It was pretty much our first experience with horses, so it wasn't a very rough or strenuous ride, and maybe to some members boring, but for the most part it was perfect for us! I think we all enjoyed it except for Mom, who had a horse who was a little stubborn - she told me a while after she got off that her legs were still shaking! :)

It wasn't too much of a mountain trail, but we were in the trees a little bit.

Grandpa and Grandma went horseback riding when they went, too!

another great family memory! After horse backing riding, we headed to RMNP for more hiking. After a picnic lunch, we did a trail that hit three lakes.

The first one was Nymph Lake

The second was Dream Lake and was absolutely breath taking.
After stopping for T-shirts, we headed back to our condo and when we finally made it back we were exhausted - too tired for swimming :). Thus ended our day on Thursday.
Friday was our most relaxful day. We didn't go far, but did a small river trail close by. It was nice and we got lots of school pictures!
We spent some time wading in freezing water, which is always fun :).
We spent the afternoon hanging out at the work-out center, swimming, playing Ping-Pong, and so on. Then we had an early supper, and got everything packed and ready to go.
We sadly bid farewell to the Timbers (the place where our condo was) with sleepy eyes at 4 in the morning on Saturday. Let's just say that it probably wasn't the best traveling we've ever had, with all the phone calls and stress levels, but we're glad we made it home safe!

And here ends our fantastic family vacation for 2014. We think every family needs to make the effort to go to Colorado - the beauty can't be described in words or pictures :). Our time spent in the alpine air was absolutely awesome!! -Faith

Looks really fun, not to mention beautiful! Our family has been talking about going for several years and I think we're finally going to next summer! -Sarah
