The Desires of Our Hearts | Leman Vacation 2013

This year during one of our morning devotions, we were encouraged to really think about what our purpose in life is, as well as our truest hearts' desires. Grant shared with us how knowing this in our hearts and minds can really impact and change the way we relate to others. We've thought about this in the days since. When I boil everything down to the deepest desires of my heart, I come up with two, to begin with:
1) to imitate Christ
2) to share an intimate, personal, daily relationship with Him.

There are more, but we will just stop there because this post is all about building and growing relationships. We were created for relationship- first with our God, then with our families, and on out from that. Truly, relationships with others are so much more satisfying than anything we might ever own. So, with gratitude to Mom and Dad for providing the Leman vacation for us to enjoy each year, we have once again nurtured family relationships in a great place with great weather for more than two great days! -Kara

Here it is:

Our meeting place this year was Honey Creek Resort in Iowa. We all arrived on Thursday afternoon, got settled in, and enjoyed a great supper.

After supper, some of us went to check out the indoor water park. It had a lazy river, a slide, a kiddie pool area, and a challenging 'river' crossing!

We figured out that if you go on your stomach you go faster :)

Kenan was to chicken to go down the orange slide,

but for Marshall there was no hesitating :)

Friday, we started off the day with breakfast, and devotions by Grandpa. Then, some of us went hiking, to the beach, kayaking, jet skiing, boating/tubing, and all sorts of fun! In the afternoon we went back to the water park and then in the evening, we rented a room at the lodge and gathered for slides and singing.

After breakfast and devotions on Saturday, we put on our best behavior for pictures, and then we went to the beach.

three musketeers :)

After a quick lunch on Saturday, came the sad time of saying goodbye to everyone! We all had a fabulous time - thanks Grandpa and Grandma and Richard and Joni for planning it! Can't wait till next year :) - Faith
