Country Mice, City Mice

During the last week of July, Grace and Hope (some cousins of ours from the city :)) got to come spend some time with us! We had a great time together, doing all sorts of things. They arrived on Sunday just in time for a great supper and then a game of croquet!

On Monday, Grace and I did some baking for farmers market. We made a scrumptious-looking brownie pizza and we were quite proud of it.
Doesn't it look great?!
On Tuesday, when we went to package it, we found that it refused to come out of the pan. We were really disappointed, but ended up making some chocolate chip cookies and cupcakes instead. And, everyone else in the house, was pretty glad that it flopped :)

Jared, Lily, and Hope, enjoyed lots of time outside playing in the sandbox, out by the civil war camp (more coming on this later), riding bikes and so on! They were inseparable and got along great - which made mom happy!

It was pretty cool all week and the pool water was absolutely freezing - but they really wanted to swim! They spent a little time in the big pool, and jumping on the trampoline, but, since they were so cold, they filled the kiddie pool with warm water and swam in their 'hot-tub' :).

On Wednesday we had farmers market in the morning, and church in the evening. Thursday dawned bright and early, with just enough time to fill our vegetable baskets, get everything packed up, and head to Honey Creek Resort in Iowa, for Leman Vacation 2013 (stay tuned :))!

Thanks for coming Grace and Hope! -Faith
