When I got up Tuesday morning, I was so excited because we were going to the American Girl Place and having lunch there and mom said I could get one dress there. Before we went to AG, we walked with Mary to Navy Pier, which is right next to Lake Michigan. It was really, really pretty because the sun was out and the water sparkled. On the way there, the streets were lined with tulips.

| Every morning, we get a very yummy breakfast. We met Mary and ate with her when she was there, otherwise we ate alone. |

I loved seeing all the tall towers- the tallest I've ever seen.
We saw a window washer - he was tied to ropes and we watched him slide all the way down on those swaying, jiggling ropes. I was glad it wasn't me!
After our walk was over, I had time to relax before our lunch.

I liked laying on the window sill playing the computer.
Soon it was time to go to American Girl!
When we got there, there were tons and tons of clothes and dolls. When we got into the lunch room upstairs, there were tons and tons of PINK- and that is my favorite color. There were pink flowers on our table, pink hairbows for my hair and my doll's, and there was a seat for my doll. There was a cup and plate for my doll that I could take home.
First we got a plate of cinnamon rolls that I LOVED. Then we got some veggies and dips and some cheese and some pretzel cheese balls that were SO SO SO good.
While we ate, we asked each other questions that were in that cute pink box on the table. Some of the questions were "would you rather be able to fly or be invisible?, would you rather take a hot bubbly bath or a hot shower, would you rather be an only child or have ten brothers and sisters." (that wasn't hard to answer- I said ten!) I thought these were like "table topics," which is something we did in speech class.
What I chose for my main dish was macaroni and cheese. Mom got a delicious plate of pasta and chicken and veggies.
For dessert, we got a cup with a little flower in it that had chocolate pudding with Oreo cookie crumbs. That was TOO much chocolate for me! I couldn't eat it. The other thing was a cookie and a piece of cake. If you had a birthday, then you got a whole cake and they sang happy birthday to you. And I really wished it was MY birthday.
Mom took a picture of me by Caroline. I like Caroline and if we could both have our way, we would have gotten Caroline for me and a whole bunch of boxes of clothes and shoes and other things like matching outfits. BUT that's not the way life works. I did get to pick out one outfit and after looking through that whole, gigantic store, I knew exactly the one I wanted.

After that super dooper lunch, I still had time to go swimming! So we went and Mom's biggest job of the whole week was getting me out of the pool each time. I got to go three times total and she only took Jared once. -Lily

Sounds like we were in Chicago the same time as you were! Last Tuesday some of us and a group from church took the train up there. We went to Lincoln Park Zoo, and on the way from the zoo to our restaurant in the late afternoon we walked along lake Michigan. We also walked right past the American Girl Place and peaked in the windows but didn't have time to stop. Too bad we didn't meet up with you! Actually, we DID meet up with Rick and Mary Plattner...It's a small world!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a good time up there too!

Yes, we heard you were up there. Too bad we didn't run into you, that would have been fun!
