Sometimes it is fun to have nothing to do....

Last Sunday, we had another family potluck just for us. This is what we do when we don't have plans on a Sunday (which is not very often so its pretty special). Mom and Dad think its a great idea because that way no one person has to cook, plus I like to cook anyway. Sunday, the menu was:

Marcus: grilled pork patties
Mom: garlic smashed potatoes
Me: green beans with LOTS of garlic salt
Faith: banana bread
Dad: stir fried peppers/onions to put on the patties
Lily (with Dad's help): peppermint tapioca (they took a traditional tapioca pudding recipe and added peppermint flavoring and chopped peppermint candies- DELICIOUS)

Kenan?- well, what did he do? He ate the whole time we were cooking- whatever he could find: potatoes off the potato masher, green beans left in the jar, licked off the tapioca spoon, and lastly (because it WAS the last sample he took), he picked up the garlic press and swiped a few pieces of plain, minced, very fresh garlic! He promptly spit that sample out!

After supper we went around the table and took turns saying what we are thankful for. We are a little behind because we normally do this at Thanksgiving. We have all our old lists all the way back to 2003, when I wasn't even around! It was funny to read what we were thankful for all the way back then. -Jared
