The Civil War Days took place at Dolliger Family Farms (about an hour north of us). They had many different things about the Civil War and there was a dressed up Abraham Lincoln that gave a speech. We went there with two other families but there wasn't any boys my age but I still enjoyed it. We got there at about 10:30 and and walked around and did many different things. We ate lunch and at 1:00 we went up a big hill and then watched the Reenactment. It was awesome because they shot off many canons and we were about fifty feet behind one canon and it was terrible loud. Then we went back through Fairbury and picked up Lily at her friend's house and went to a Blunier gathering. -Marcus
Marcus, Faith, Mom, Dad, Kenan, and I all went to a Civil War Reenactment last Saturday. Abraham Lincoln talked to us and a bunch of generals talked to us. We had a picnic and then we went to the reenactment. We all enjoyed that. There was a canon really close to us. It was loud. We learned a lot about history. And on the way home, we loved the milkshakes that Dad bought us.

| Some of the fun was we learned what a doctor did during the Civil War. They had a lot of tools for the sick. They took good care of the hurt people. |
| One of the funny things Mr. Lincoln said was when someone asked a controversial question, he said that's a good question then paused and after a little bit said, next question? without responding. I never knew Abraham Lincoln was such a good president and that he had such a hard life. |

| I like to play war but it wouldn't have been nice to be fighting for real. I am glad we are not having a civil war right now. |
| We saw a soldier running from the battlefield and he got shot by his own general for running home. |
| One time that day we saw a group of soldiers that were marching. They marched really really close to us. It was cool. |
