Last Friday the homeschool group went to the Nursing Home and decorated gingerbread houses with the residents. On Monday we made the dough, cut out the shapes, and baked them. On Tuesday we made frosting and put them together. That was the difficult part!! We did Marcus' first and it turned out very well (he informed us that he used metal beams, wooden studs, and concrete, and that is why it stood up!). Unfortunately, with Jared's and mine, we had some trouble keeping the roof from sagging in! Our friends said that they used hot glue and it worked really well. WE decided we would do this next year, but when we told the boys, they said, "But then we won't be able to eat it!!" -Faith
I liked doing my gingerbread house. My Christmas tree almost fell over! -Lily
No wonder your houses wouldn't stand, it looks like mom ate all the frosting!!!
