Jared would like to share a recipe he and I recently discovered (thanks for sharing, Carla!). He loves his (nearly) weekly kitchen time. He's always asking to make a pie, which I rarely feel like tackling at 4 pm (don't worry, if I ever do, I will teach him to bake the crust!). But this recipe we can handle! Plus, its the first granola bar recipe I have made that has actually made, well... bars.
1/2 c. (or less) sugar
1 c. honey
1/4 c. butter
1 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sliced almonds
4 c. rolled oats
3 1/2 c. Rice Krispies
1/2 c. (or less) chocolate chips
1 c. raisins
Heat sugar and honey to dissolve sugar. Add butter and peanut butter. Fold in remaining ingredients. Pour in jelly roll pan and press firmly with wax paper.
