One big huge blessing at our house this summer was our pool! It stayed crystal clear all summer!! It's sparkling water helped us make many friends :).
praise Jesus for sunny smiles!
Ahh, the kittens. At it's peak, our total of kittens this season reached 15. We ended up only keeping 1 and finding new homes for the 14 left! They cute little balls of fluff were a fun addition to the farmers market for a couple weeks, and in stiff competition for attention with our little sweetie pie :).
annual sweet corn day!
Mom and the younger kids enjoyed a fun afternoon with some friends at a water park!
Tell me what would be the meaning of a post about our summer without some mention of produce?!
Kenan enjoyed a fun little Saturday morning fishing trip with some friends!
On August 18th, our family was blessed with the opportunity to praise God's name in song for an event in Princeville! It was a big first for our family, and we were more than a little nervous :). But it was really enjoyable and fun to do it together, and were hoping to do it again soon!
Jared had another first-time experience when he joined some friends for a 'survival encounter'. They were taken out in to the middle of an unfamiliar timber and enjoyed figuring out how to build a fire to make some supper and then also build a shelter to spend the night! We're thankful to report that they survived :)
To celebrate Jared's graduation from 8th grade, our family was able to spend a beautiful Saturday at an air show not too far away! And actually, that's about all I can say about it because I ended up having to work that day and was only able to join them for supper. But from what they told me, it sounded like a nice show!
Kenan and Mom enjoyed joining some friends from the homeschool group for an informative afternoon at Lake of the Woods the other day!
And last but not least, Kenan was able to spend a few days with Grandpa and Grandma, including a boat ride in Peoria with Noah.
And there you have it! A little smattering of the events that filled our summer. As I mentioned earlier, we're now back into the school year routine... while it's hard to leave summer behind, it's nice to see the change in seasons! I think God knew we would get bored if all year was one long summer... although it's still easy to complain about it being over :)
