For the last three years we have started our own plants from seeds in our basement in February and March. This year we tried something new. We planted lettuce so that we can have it to eat earlier. In fact, we have already harvested some of the leaf lettuce and we planted some head lettuce plants outside. We also have some very healthy looking pepper plants (we've tried to have a decent pepper harvest- you know the Stoller red and yellow and orange kinds- for the past three years as well!)

| This year we filled all of the shelves. |

| This is some of our broccoli and cabbage. |

The bottom shelf is for the tomatoes that we just planted.
Now the tricky part is getting the weather to cooperate so we can get the plants in the ground right when they're ready!
Until then, we just pretend its spring indoors.
