Little Moments: Big Memories

Beautiful weather, meeting new people, shopping, singing, games, whipped cream, laughter, late nights, pennies, heart-to-heart talks, warm sunshine, and fabulous time with awesome friends = my long (but way too short) weekend in Atlanta, GA!

I traveled through the night with a family from Roanoke on Friday night and arrived at the Knapps new house on Saturday morning. Derek and Kate actually spent the whole week there and then we all traveled home together on Monday. We packed the 48 hours we had together with lots of fun, and I loved every minute of it!!

For some reason, we found all four of us huddled in the closet Saturday morning...

Breakfast Saturday morning
After breakfast, we went on a walk around Knapps property! The weather was cold to the Atlanta folks, but to me, it was wonderful!!

Notice Seth and Derek's pink shirts which the girls gave to them for a Valentines day gift! They say "I love my sisters" :)

Singing around the piano

Seth and Derek took singing to a whole new level with their spatula microphones :)
We went out for lunch and then shopping with some of the families from Atlanta. It was great to meet everyone!

After a potluck at the church Saturday night, we played a game of Chopped, which is one of our favorites :) The ingredients were cream cheese, peanuts, and rice crispies.

Lexi and I made a banana cheese cake type of thing although it wasn't as firm as cheesecake. It tasted really good! (not proud, just thankful...)

Derek and Seth made some sort-of rice crispy treat, which I am sure tasted great as well, and then presented it with a really impressive flower made out of fruit!

Megan and Kate made a romantic Valentine's desert which even included a napkin from Matt and Dana's wedding!!

All of the teams were really close and all the dishes tastes really good, but I have to admit that Derek and Seth's dish got the most points... don't worry though, one of these times we are going to beat them!!
We had a great day in church on Sunday and then we spent the evening at Steidingers for games and pizza! When we got home in the evening, the younger kids went to bed and Matt decided that the rest of us would stay up and play games until midnight. However, by probably 10:00, he was sound asleep in the chair! He wasn't much help in the games we played but added a lot of extra excitement and laughter to the evening! We laughed so hard at his expression when he woke up with a terrified look on his face as Derek tried squirting whipped cream in his face :) But the best part was when he started singing for us - his own rendition of Amazing Grace!! :)

We also tied the headband on him while he was sleeping!
After a long pillow fight in the girls' room we finally had to call it a night. We got up Monday morning and sadly had to leave and  say goodbye to everyone and to the beautiful weather. We arrived home to snow-packed roads, and freezing cold temps, but thankfully we made it home safely!

Goodbyes are always so hard...

kinda typical :)

Thanks Knapps for the fabulous time and thanks for being such awesome friends :) I loved all of the little moments that we had together which are now big memories for me! Miss you guys -Faith
PS- hey, dare you guys to comment :)
