Here are some favorite scenes from the 2013 Dave Blunier family Christmas! We set aside a whole day Saturday (it still wasn't enough) to do nothing but relax and enjoy one another as we celebrated Jesus' birth. It was wonderful! We had few time limitations, bickering among siblings was down to a bare minimum (thanks, kids!), there was plenty of singing and laughing and our favorite
traditions -we even ended up starting a new one this year. It wasn't long into the day and we had already decided this Christmas was just what we wanted.

Dave told the kids what he wanted for our family Christmas was for them to put together a little music program by themselves. He told them quite a while ago. Sometimes things like that get forgotten (even by him) but they did not forget! While we were gone for an evening and they were home by themselves, they put together a wonderful program. It was so sweet- and they all participated cheerfully and willingly- which meant alot to their dad!! (and me) It meant so much that it has been declared our newest tradition.

When Marcus opened up one of his gifts- the one he guessed (correctly) to be his- to his delight, it was indeed, a pellet gun- and it was JUST WHAT HE WANTED. (whew!) I had him repeat that just to make sure. He even repeated it for me. It was really going to be a great day. So, one by one, the kids opened their gifts and several in a row said the same thing. It was great. Then, Kenan, who happened to be last, grabbed his package and tore of a tiny little corner, barely exposing what the gift was. But that didn't matter- it was JUST WHAT HE WANTED. It was adorable. So, thus became the theme of the day- which was indeed a wonderful theme to have.

Thank you, Jesus, for giving us just what we wanted: Yourself (the best Gift of all) and each other.
