Something New on New Year's Day

(This post is a little overdue, but like I mentioned before, we've been having problems with blogger. Now that I've figured a way around the problems, I think we're once again good to go!)

We did something I don't think we've ever done before to start the new year off this year. We usually do something fun New Year's Eve (I get really worked up if we don't have plans for this special night, that's why we used to have a baby every other year around this time- ha ha!), but this year we ended up extending our plans into the next day- ALL day! We spent the whole day relaxing and playing and catching up and refreshing our spirits with great friends- games, good times, great conversations, good food even! : ) (I didn't make it all, kids helped- that's why I can say that)

there was a surplus of little girls for Lily- what a great birthday present for someone who is just devastated if there isn't a girl-her-own-age to play with!

The nicest thing for Lily was the fact that we celebrated the coming in of the new year by singing happy birthday to her at midnight, eventually all made it  back home to our house in the wee hours of the morning after a wonderful time with others, woke up a few short hours later and it was STILL her birthday! Wow- what a surprise for her! : )

Lily and Shayna were still inseparable after nearly 24 hours of being together solid- it was so cute to watch them. Here they are in a "photo shoot" that the older and younger girls set up and spent time creatively taking pics of each other

doesn't take much to make a huge tableful of kids anymore- wish I had a pictures of all the kids to share here

Bryson totally crashed at about supper time, slept right through it even, but was raring to go right after!

Thanks for coming to spend the day with us, dear friends! : ) We made great memories not to be forgotten for a long time. -Kara
