The Joy that Comes Back to You

In keeping with our family's tradition of the past few years (more about traditions in the next post), we started our family's Christmas celebration sharing in some way with others. This fall, we began singing regularly with another family (love you guys! :) ), which has been pure blessing for us! Anyway, together we decided to "debut" our little group (we don't have a name yet- any suggestions??) by putting together a little soup supper for our church's widows and widowers and following it with a short music program. Indeed, we found ourselves the most blessed...

we can't take credit for the beautiful backdrops- they were put up as part of the festivities that would be going on here the next day, but they sure added to the ambience : )
us four adults were a part of it too, but all adults disappeared when I pulled out my camera!
Somehow, not only for Christmas
but all the year through,
the joy that you give to others
Is the joy that comes back to you.
And the more you spend in blessing
The poor and lonely and sad,
The more of your heart's possessing
Returns to make you glad.
John Greenleaf Whittier
