The Make-Way-For-A-Great-Day Committee

All of us kids in front of the capital

                                     The Representative and Senate Chambers
                                         Reciting our bills
A couple of weeks ago (yeah, its been a while since we've posted) we enjoyed a great day at the state  capital in Springfield. We went with our good friends Matt and Dana which made it all the more fun. It was a day for homeschoolers called TeenPact. Every child had to take a bill, that they wanted turned into a law. My bill was, "Government Officials may not receive wages unless all state bills are paid timely." Marcus' was, "Public Schools must use biblical curriculum's," and Jared's was, "To prevent any more windmills from being erected." We were all given a chance to read our bills and then it was assigned a committee. Later in the day, we broke of into separate committees and were given a chance to defend our bill. We also went on a prayer walk and prayed for all of our leaders, and went on a scavenger hunt. After it was all over, we met up with our other family members that hadn't participated and we all ate pizza together. We all really enjoyed it and learned a lot! -Faith
