Serenity Strings

It all started in January when Dad came home from work with one of his ideas. He thought that some girls and I should play our violins as background music for the Fairview Haven Employee Appreciation Dinner. He sounded as if it would be a breeze to find some music and violin players and play for just a half-of-an-hour. Well, Mom and I knew that it isn't that simple but we asked around. I asked my violin teacher and she suggested Carly Rabe, and Laura and Megan Ricketts. We contacted them and found some music and we all started practicing. We played mostly hymns for the dinner. The night of the dinner, Bonnie, the lady that was catering it, asked us if we would like to play background music at the Midwest Food Bank Benefit Dinner. We asked our parents and all decided that we would like to do it. For this dinner, we played challenging classical pieces, which took a lot more practice. It would have been nice to have more time to practice, but soon it was the night of the dinner. We were all extremely nervous. But....after it was all over, I have to say that it was really enjoyable!

The reason I called the post "Serenity Strings" is because that is the name that we've kind of been calling ourselves!
