Amazing Family History

Last night, during Bible time, we were talking about some Christian leaders in early American history. We told Dad that we would like to put some of our own family on our history time line. He told us he thought he could trace our lineage back to the Revolutionary War, which we are about to study. So, right afterwards, Dad started looking at some old Blunier history (his favorite thing to do and one of the few things that will keep him willingly awake past 9 pm). After a bit, he excitedly told us he could trace us back to before the founding of America- when was that, he wondered? 1776, we said! No, he meant before America was DISCOVERED. Yes, on this website he had found, he traced back his relatives to before Christopher Columbus! Jacob Rickenbach was born in 1480 in Switzerland, and died in 1530. He is my great, great, great, great..well, fourteen generations back. Isn't that amazing? WOW!! -Faith

Later that evening, Dave was still engrossed in his studies when I was ready for bed-imagine that! I was once again impressed with his great grandparents who had 15 children in 18 years- one in 1909, 1910, 1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1916, 1917, 1918, 1920, 1922, 1923, 1924, 1925, 1927. No twins, all lived to adulthood. He died at 71 and she at 78. I am simply amazed. -Kara
