A Tribute to a True Bosom Friend

Because of Focus on the Family's fantastic radio theater presentation of Anne of Green Gables, my children are growing up under the influence of Anne Shirley. I am so thankful for L.M. Montgomery's rich vocabulary and delightful plot because Faith can quote whole passages from the script. On occasion, I have found myself rattling off some of the lines (probably Marilla's). But even for those who are less acquainted with her, it is well known that she had a "bosom" friend, Diana. When you have a friend like that, its hard to really remember what your life was like without her. It's like that for me. My bosom friend has been with me through thick and thin, fancy and frolic, weal and woe. She stood by me while I got married way back twelve years ago, she helped me when the babies came and still does fun things with them as they grow, she's lent me all kinds of school supplies and tips, she visits me even though I've moved more than 80 miles away, she's celebrated with me (I've still got traces of those 30 gifts), and she's cried with me when I needed to do that, too. She's prayed, she's inspired, and most of all, she's shared her heart with me in return. One day, she shared with me a new way God's been at work in her life. To God be the glory, great things He has done! You will make a wonderful wife to Neil. L.M. Montgomery must have had a heart friend just like you, Luann!-Kara
