No School! Hop in the van! We are off to the Early American Museum in Mahomet for a field trip. The Early American Museum is basically all about living on the prairie. We went with our home school group in the morning and had a tour. Afterwards we had a picnic lunch. We all burned off some energy while climbing up the bell tower. Then we decided we would play a little at the museum (or maybe a lot!)-Faith
Jared: I loved running up the bell tower and then when we finally reached the top I liked looking out and being able to see for miles and miles around. I liked playing Civil War with my friends.
Lily: I liked playing in the pioneer kitchen with glass plates and real silverware. I also liked dressing up and going to the little church.
Marcus: I love this museum because there was a Civil War tent, and uniforms. We played with the Knapps. We were the Union Forces.
Faith: We discoved a whole chestful of hats. Actually we just kept discovering things! It was an awesome day!
It truly was a wonderful day- one of those beautiful fall weather days that make it great to just be alive. Seems like I have said that alot this fall! It was so fulfilling to happen upon such a gem of a museum practically right in our backyard and free, too- the only way we got our children out of there was to buy them 15 cent candy sticks! -Kara
