Science in the Kitchen Among Other Things

Have you ever heard of an exploding watermelon? Well we were sitting at lunch about a week ago and all of the sudden it was like a pan on the stove was boiling.We all looked and wondered what it was. Grace (my cousin from Ohio was here) screamed, "It is the watermelon."
Sure enough the watermelon was shooting up thin, watery, liquid. It was completly rotten, and had to take a trip to the compost pile!

I had a wonderful time with Grace. We had the Fairview Haven Picnic while she was here. It was the first year to do it but there was a Dunk Tank there. I was VERY surprised when she said she was going to do it. As she was waiting in line she decided she would not do it, but finally we convincer her to and she loved it!
